LIONS OF THE SOUTH was formed by Andres Nayar on drums, Felipe Vilches on bass and Cristobal Perez on guitar/vocals, has focused on creating a forceful, abrasive, and aggressive sound. Through different avenues, while at the same time incorporating introspective, experimental sections, it allows the songs to develop in a distinctive way. The bands lyrical content has been geared toward exploring the darker side of the human race, as well as philosophy, psychology and spirituality. Its music, on the other hand, has focused on creating a chaotic, dissident, yet dynamic sound with energetic riffs and hard-hitting percussions.

EXISTANCE was founded in 2008 by Julian Izard (lead vocals & guitars) and Tom Drouin (bass), who shared a common goal of keeping the musical spirit of the 80′s Heavy Metal alive. If the last name Izard sounds familiar to the historians among you…well the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree – like father like son, Julian Izard is the son of Didier Izard, who was the vocalist with French speed metal band, H–Bomb, which regardless of featuring French language lyrics, and in spite of only being active from 1983–86, left a serious footprint on the European Heavy Metal scene of the 80s. Officially only releasing one EP, “Coup De Métal” and one album “Attaque“, the numerous bootleg albums available today bear testimony to their status and influence on a next generation of bands, including Izard junior’s EXISTANCE.
By 2009 the EXISTANCE line–up completed, the band started out rehearsing and playing covers of such Hard Rock anthems like “Dallas 1 PM” (Saxon) and “Cold Sweat” (Thin Lizzy), refining their chops and become a lean and mean hard rocking machine. Not long after they began to write their own songs.
In 2010 EXISTANCE released the obligatory demo. Four tracks were recorded, which enabled them to play a substantial amount of concerts across France with forays into Belgium and the
Netherlands. They were also invited to perform at numerous festivals such as: the Paris Metal France Festival IV (PMFF IV), the Isaria Festival, Vouziers Festival (#21), twice at the Zicophonies Festival (#15 and #16), Long Live Metal Festival (edition #5), Rock ’N’ Metal Convention (#14).
In 2011, the band returned to the studio and produced another eight tracks. The German label High Roller Records released the 2nd set of recordings in April 2012, both on compact disc and vinyl, distributed worldwide via Soulfood. Thanks to the release being well received by the international media, EXISTANCE could now count on a truly internatuonal fan base.
British rockers FURYON will return next week to Black Dog Sound Studios in Atlanta, US to record their sompohore yet-untitled studio album. Once again, the album will be engineered and produced by US producer RICK BEATO (SHINEDOWN, FOZZY) and his team.
Singer Matt Mitchell says: “We’ve worked real hard behind the scenes to make this possible. There were moments I wasn’t sure it would happen but it is, and there are some killer tunes!”
After the success of thrilling debut ‘GRAVITAS‘ that UK’s METAL HAMMER magazine promoted and covered so well, the band have a new batch of finely tuned writings. What’s to be expected is more of the same explosive guitar riffs and solos in well crafted song form. Expressive vocal delivery and melodies to scream along to. A possibly darker album still with progressive elements and a grungy edge. The album aims to be a 10 song album with additions (acoustic tracks and videos). FURYON are extremely excited and looking forward to sharing the outcome of this venture with the World.
FURYON are: Matt Mitchell – Vocals, Chris Green – Guitars, Alex “Nickel” Bowen – Bass, Lee Farmery – Drums
FURYON recently confirmed to play Hungary’s MetalWar Festival 2014, which takes place September 5th – 7th in Budapest and Belgium’s Power, Prog & Metal Festival 2014, which takes place April 18th – 20th in Mons. Other bands confirmed include: Pain, In Extremo, Therion, Finntroll, My Dying Bride, Amorphis, Fates Warning, Masterplam, Exorcism, Fatal Smile, Pagan’s Mind to name only a few.
FURYON is a band from the UK who like nothing more than to challenge expectations. Raised on a diet of heavy metal, prog, and classic rock. FURYON mix all these components for a truly unique and contemporary sound. Delivering huge rock-radio-friendly songs, with technically-challenging-yet-infectiously-catchy musicianship, they are dedicated to one sole purpose: making hard-hitting songs that will stand the test of time.
International power prog metal band BLACKWELDER signs worldwide management deal with Germany’s ROCK’N’GROWL MANAGEMENT. Hailing from the four corners of the world, BLACKWELDER is a brand new metal experience featuring some of the top names in Power Prog Metal today. Arguably the best singer in all of metal, Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear, ex-Gamma Ray) fronts this extraordinary outfit at the top of his game, alongside guitar virtuoso Andrew Szus (Seven Seraphim). Bjorn Englen (Dio Disciples, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen) and Aquiles Priester (Hangar, ex-Angra) round out this unstoppable team of what quite possibly could be one of the greatest lineups metal has ever seen.
Ralf Scheepers – Vocals (Primal Fear, ex-Gamma Ray)
Andrew Szucs – Guitar (Seven Seraphim)
Bjorn Englen – Bass (Dio Disciples, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen)
Aquiles Priester – Drums (Hangar, ex-Angra)
BLACKWELDER began as the long-awaited follow up to Seven Seraphim’s “Believe in Angels“. Bit by bit, as the songs materialized, it became evident to mainman Andrew Szucs that this music should carry the banner of a new musical entity, emerging from a richer, darker source thus, BLACKWELDER was born.
Andrew began this musical journey alone, however, once he completed the framework for all of the songs, the band members began to fall into place like pieces of a puzzle.
Bjorn Englen was the first to climb aboard, expertly adding his bass lines to the songs. Bjorn would later go on tour with Tony MacAlpine alongside drummer Aquiles Priester, after which, it seemed only natural to keep this rhythm section in tact for BLACKWELDER.
Once Andrew’s guitars were recorded, it became evident that a true powerhouse vocalist was needed to carry these songs to completion. Not just any voice would do.BLACKWELDER would need the stratospheric vocal stylings characterized by the rich tradition of European heavy metal, and who better to do that than the voice of Primal Fear: Ralf Scheepers. Like a dragon with its fire, Ralf’s voice and lyrical themes are a natural fit to the songs of BLACKWELDER; blending and contrasting with the Marshall-based guitar tones in perfect harmony.
Topping off this powerful lineup is the unparalleled drumming of Aquiles Priester. Andrew and Aquiles agreed to finish the songs with Aquiles’ unique pyrotechnic display of progressive metal drumming techniques and what a display it is.
BLACKWELDER is a winning formula of raw musical virtuosity that holds the listener’s ears right from the start. This act is surely not one to be missed and cannot be denied!
